Antipacification

Today I declared war on Smoodge’s pacifier. 

The pacifier is not inherently evil, but I don’t want Cole to have the dependency on it to go to sleep or hindering him from self soothing to go back to sleep if he wakes up in the night. So far it’s worked out great.  He went down for two naps and to bed without it, only fussing for up to 10 minutes each time.  Maybe he’s trying to fool me into giving it to him since he’s not addicted – he can stop any time J.  We’ll see how day two goes. BTW – the pacifier is not out of his life completely – he can still use for daytime melt downs and car trips – the main thing is more sleep for him and us.

Update - we went on vacation and had to be more flexible with the pacifier - at this point I'll say I don't think he HAS to have it and so if he does not a problem.
