Khayman's Spring Break Visit
Khayman came to visit for Spring Break. It was fun to see he and Cole interact. During the week we put away the video games and tried to focus on being together. Stan and Khayman went mountain biking, we toured UCLA and USC, went to Santa Monica, and hung out. Good times!

Cole Standing and Cruising!
Cole has recently begun pulling himself up to standing on anything he can find! He has pretty amazing balance and is loving the new found freedom. Not too shabby for 8 months old. It's definitely time to put up the baby gates!

Amazing Race Tryouts
Cole and I flew to Oregon for the Amazing Race open casting call in February. It was a spontaneous decision to go after Mandy told us they were coming to Portland. Stan was going to visit his mom in Idaho and then had a trip to Oregon for business so the timing seemed perfect. We flew in on Thursday and headed to Portland Friday night. We booked a room at the hotel next to the audition thinking we could watch for when the line started. To our surprise the line was already forming at 8pm! Gena hopped into line while Cole and I checked in. Of course it was record lows that night in Portland - like 18 degrees! Brr!!!
Gena was able to get #77 in line. Teri came down from Seattle to watch Cole and Jason joined us from Corvallis. Our original idea was for the three of us to try to audition together, but we figured we better just do the pairs. We spent hours trying to figure out who would audition with me - Jason or Gena. The night was fun sharing the hotel with the siblings and running through possible scenarios. We decided to try to grab an additional spot in line so Jason headed out to line up. He and I ended up switching off time outside through the night - soooo cold. Around 7am they handed out more numbers and we were 235. We ended up deciding that J and I would audition first, then Gena and I. As it turned out, they cut off the auditions at 205 so Gena and I didn't get to go. The audition itself was 2 minutes in a crowded room in front of cameras. Jason and I hammed it up and tried to throw out ideas on why we would be fun to watch - black mormons, competitive, not stereotypical, and fun! We don't know if we'll get contacted, but overall it was a fun experience and exciting just trying out!
